I hate your manners!

RUDE

  • ill-mannered: socially incorrect in behavior

  • ill-bred: (of persons) lacking in refinement or grace

  • uncivil: lacking civility or good manners

Manners are a lost art these days.  From rude kids to rude adults...arggh, I just cannot stand it.  It is never okay to be rude.  Being rude is simply inconsiderate.

Here are some of the rude things I hate:

    1. People slamming the door in your face when you're entering a store or, even worse, when someone is holding a door open for you, a spouse or friend, and 13 people zoom in front of you, almost knocking you down, like the door was being held open for them
    2. Sneezing or coughing without covering your mouth (disgusting)
    3. Rude T-shirts (Mustache Rides 5 cents)
    4. Talking with your mouth full of food (can you say bolus)
    5. Talking loudly on your cell phone (nobody wants to hear what you have to say and you don't have to shout in order for the person on the other end to hear you)
    6. Not saying please or thank you
    7. Butting into line
    8. Rude language - especially in front of children
    9. Treating wait staff or staff at the store like they are your personal slaves
    10. UPDATE - Disciplining your children in public - and by that I mean yelling, screaming or hitting - not cool
    11. Spitting
    12. Blowing the snot out of your nose by holding the other nostril shut
    13. Picking your nose (hey, we can see you)
    14. Being late (unless you have a good explanation for it.  Do you really think your time is more important than others?)
    15. Parking in the handicap parking spot (even if it's raining or "just for a minute")
    16. Not allowing elderly or handicapped people to have your seat on public transportation
    17. Burping or farting without saying excuse me
    18. Racist jokes and/or remarks (not cool, EVER)
    19. Sexist jokes and/or remarks (same as above)
    20. Making rude comments about the way people look (check out the mirror if you think you're so perfect)
What drives you crazy about people and their manners?

    1. Is #10 like Jesus talking to his disciples?

I think DISCIPLINE is fine in front of others. Kids need immediate consequences to their actions. The key is not to do or say anything that isn't respectful and this is the way discipline should always be handled.

    2. Ha ha ha...proof reading helps. Yes, do not talk to your children like Jesus would in public. I absolutely agree with your comment and will publish an update.
